Job Description: Position is responsible for the effective management of agency Prevention programming, including planning, organizing, and directing all functions and program staff. Duties include development and administration of policy and procedure; program and financial management; establishment of goals and objectives, establishing and maintaining effective relationships and coordination with staff and community resources; recruitment, orientation/training, supervision and evaluation of all program staff. Position reports to the Executive Director and serves on the ARP Management Team.

Minimum education and experience: Bachelors Degree in the Human Services field with a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in the effective delivery of community-based prevention services, including three (3) years administrative experience. Certification by the NC Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board as a CSAPC. Masters Degree and additional Certifications (CCS, LCAS) preferred.

Drug Treatment Court Counselor

Criminal Justice Resource Center- STARR Program
$29,637 - $51,024 (Hiring Range $29,637 - $34,083)

Provides intensive chemical dependency treatment for female & male adults incarcerated in the Durham County Detention Facility. Facilitates substance abuse education classes as well as psycho-educational groups and individual counseling sessions. Completes psycho-social assessments and initial service plans with all assigned clients. Provides case management services by assisting clients to develop person centered treatment plans and makes appropriate referrals to placement agencies; attends multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings and supervision sessions. Requires graduation from high school and three years of experience in the substance abuse field, two of which must have been at the level of Substance Abuse Worker, or a bachelor’s degree and one year of experience as a Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The group sessions are scheduled during the day, evenings and weekends.
